A VAN driver enjoyed a "lucky escape" after their vehicle was swept away in a flooded ford in Essex.
The man was said to have driven into a flooded road running below the water level in Sible Hedingham today, causing his van to be swept away.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service has issued a warning following the almost-severe incident.
A spokesman said: "With rain forecast over the next 48 hours on already saturated ground, there is a risk of flooding.
"Do not risk driving through floodwater. This driver had lucky escape."
There has been severe flooding across the county in the aftermath of Storm Henk.
High winds and heavy rain also brought on power cuts, transport troubles, property damage and disruption on Tuesday.
A further yellow warning for rain is in place on Thursday and Friday.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said its control room received 110 calls relating to the storm in just seven hours.
In a separate post on social media, a spokesman for the service reminded residents it is a lifesaving service and “not a recovery company”.
