A GARDEN centre is delighted to have raised thousands for charity with staff fundraisers and initiatives.
Perrywood Garden Centre raised £17,500 for charity in 2023.
Instead of receiving tips throughout 2023, staff at the Perrywood Tiptree coffee shop and restaurant team chose to collect money for Hope for Tomorrow.
By doing this they raised a total of £4,600 which will be put towards purchasing a new fridge and chemotherapy chairs for the mobile cancer unit.
In total they raised £10,422 for Hope for Tomorrow to help purchase and maintain mobile cancer care units.
They raised £1,715 for Abberton Rural Training and gave them £2,500 to spend at the Tiptree Garden Centre.
They donated £3,000 to The Red Rose Community Farm and gave them £2,500 to spend at the Tiptree Garden Centre, to help provide a therapeutic environment for those with learning disabilities, people suffering from ill mental health, and vulnerable children and families.
They also donated £2,513 to Greenfingers Charity to create gardens for children and families in hospices.
Finally, a total of £5,900 of plant donations and raffle prizes was donated to local schools and charities.
Both the Tiptree and Sudbury garden centres will continue to support Abberton Rural Training, Hope for Tomorrow, The Red Rose Community Farm and Greenfingers Charity this year.
A spokesman for the garden centre shared how delighted staff were and said: “As always we are really pleased to have raised this sum and thank all our customers and team for their ongoing support.”
