A HIGH Street café was treated to a visit from a much-loved Essex pop star.
Essex’s own singer Olly Murs stopped by the Continental Café in Maldon this week.
The Witham popstar and soon-to-be dad stopped for some pictures with owner Mike Strong and assistant manager Nicky Willis during his visit.
The Continental Café offers fresh coffee in a “beautiful relaxing environment”.
“We are passionate about giving our customers the best taste whether it’s a catch-up with friends, special occasion or a quick pit-stop along your journey,” the website reads.
The popular town spot shared the visit on social media.
A Facebook post reads: “Not even celebrities can resist our delicious cakes.
“Thanks for dropping by our cafe for another dose of cake Olly Murs, you’ve got great taste.”
Olly, who is from the nearby mid Essex town of Witham, announced he was going to be a father in December, sharing the news his wife Amelia Tank is pregnant.
The 39-year-old singer married bodybuilder Tank in a star-studded wedding in July on Osea Island.
In an Instagram post, Murs shared an image of Tank with her baby bump visible while wearing a white crop top, yellow cardigan and jeans while he pointed at her stomach.
The picture also showed him in a Christmas jumper with a pregnancy scan of their child.
He wrote: “Baby Murs due 2024.”
The couple received congratulations from Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins, Irish musician Ronan Keating and Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell.
