FESTIVE holidays could look slightly different in Tiptree in future following talks of a new five-metre free being planted.
A permanent Christmas tree could be installed on Windmill Green under plans from the parish council.
Councillors hope a rooted tree will be a more sustainable option and are investigating the costs of buying one.
Parish clerk Claire Newton said: “Tiptree Parish Council is thrilled to announce its endeavour to investigate opportunities for the installation of a permanent Christmas tree on Windmill Green.
“This innovative initiative aims to uphold the tradition of adorning the site with a festive tree while embracing a sustainable approach to this annual Christmas celebration.
“The proposed permanent Christmas tree at Windmill Green signifies the council's commitment to fostering a sense of community and tradition, with an environmentally conscious perspective.
“This thoughtful initiative aligns with the council's dedication to preserving the charm and festivity of Tiptree while contributing to a more sustainable future.”
