A FARE dodger has been fined more than £500 after she tried to avoid paying £5.80 for a train ticket.
Rebecca Sibana, of Avon Way, Colchester, was found without a ticket when she was travelling in Romford, Essex, in March last year.
Magistrates at Lavender Hill Magistrates Court, London, then considered the case on Thursday, January 11 after Sibana did not enter a plea.
Concluding the hearing, officials ordered Sibana to pay the £5.80 train fare, £250 in costs, a £220 fine, and an £88 surcharge.
It means Sibana, 21, must pay a total of £563.80.
