GENEROUS runners from Tiptree have donated thousands to charity following successful fundraising.
Members of the Tiptree Road Runners running club have donated a total of £4,500 to charity following their successful Tiptree 10 race.
They donated £1,500 each to Kids Inspire, Active Essex Foundation and Tiptree food bank.
The running club was delighted to be visited by Sandra from Kids Inspire and Jamie from Active Essex to thank them for their donation.
Tiptree Food Bank in Tiptree United Reformed Church, Chapel Road is part of Colchester Food Bank and the Trussell Trust network.
The food bank has helped thousands of residents, working to stop hunger in the village.
Kids Inspire is an Essex-based charity helping provide mental health and trauma recovery support for children, young people and their families.
Active Essex is an initiative that supports people in getting more active.
A spokesman for Tiptree Road Runners said: “We’d like to say that we are very happy to be able to give back to our community and to charities who do such amazing work.
“We are also so grateful to our race director, Rob Hankey and the Tiptree 10 sub-committee, who along with the support of other club members volunteered their time to make such a successful Tiptree 10 race.”
This year's Tiptree 10 race on Sunday, October 13 will soon be open for entries at www.facebook.com/Tiptree10.
