COLCHESTER United duo Alistair Smith and Harry Anderson have been named in the Sky Bet League Two Team of the Week.

The duo both marked their U's home debut with fine goals in their side's 3-3 draw with Forest Green Rovers, at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Smith, who joined Colchester on loan from League One side Lincoln City last month, was outstanding in midfield again for his new club and capped another impressive performance with the hosts' first goal, as they launched their second-half comeback from 2-0 down.

Anderson also put in an eye-catching performance on his first start for the U's since joining them on loan from League One club Stevenage, last month.

The 27-year-old former Lincoln City and Bristol Rovers winger scored Colchester's third goal in what was an eye-catching display.

It was Anderson's first competitive start since April 15 and he lasted 80 minutes before being replaced by Conor Wilkinson.

Colchester boss Danny Cowley said: “I definitely didn’t want to take Harry off but at the same time, I didn’t want to break him.

“That’s his first start this season in a league game, so we had to be sensible.

“It’s not in my nature to be sensible, particularly when I’m chasing a win at home but we have to think bigger picture and I know that if I get Harry on the pitch for 15, 16 games this season between now and the end of the season, then we’ll be a much better team."
