AN MP has said he was "delighted" to attend an awards evening celebrating the future of technology in the care industry.
Will Quince, Colchester’s MP since 2015, was invited to a Care Tech Challenge Fund event at Firstsite, in Colchester, on February 2.
The fund invited submissions from small and medium enterprises, outlining an idea for a piece of technology within the criteria.
During his appearance he announced the winners of several grants, with £8,000 being awarded to three successful applicants and the overall winner receiving £25,000.
Supersense Technologies: Promoting Independence Through Sensor Technology was named as the overall winner at the ceremony.
Mr Quince said: “Last year I attended and spoke at the launch of The Care Tech Challenge Fund, a collaborative initiative with Essex University, the Eastern Academic Health Science Network, Breaking Barriers Innovations, and Care Providers across Essex.
“This initiative provided an exciting opportunity for innovators to shape the future of care technology”.
The MP added he was “delighted” to attend the awards ceremony a year on.
