A NEW café has officially opened its doors, replacing a beloved tearoom in Tiptree.

Claire’s Cabin café and smokehouse at Toms Farm Shop in Maldon Road, Tiptree is now open.

They serve traditional English breakfast items, sandwiches, burgers and more. The café also serves homemade cakes.

Dog owners are also welcome, as the café has a dedicated dog friendly zone.

The café also specialises in smoked food, including smoked mackerel, flaked smoked salmon fillet, smoked garlic and chilli prawns and hot smoked salmon fishcakes.

The site also has an alcohol license and hopes to create a “delightful dining experience”.

The new business is based at the Tom’s Farm Shop site, which stocks wooden garden products, fresh local fruit and vegetables and locally sourced products too.

The new café and smokehouse has replaced the Forget Me Not Tearoom, which announced its decision to close due to increasing costs in January.
