A MANUFACTURING business is set to expand its site in Tiptree following the approval of a planning application.
Mumford and Wood, a timber windows and doors manufacturer based in Tower Business Park in Tiptree has had a planning application approved for an expansion on the site.
The planning application was submitted in November 2023, in the hopes of developing the site to suit the needs of the business as it continues to grow.
The business, which makes all its windows and doors at the Tiptree factory is now able to construct a more permanent solution to its existing industrial canopy.
Tiptree Parish Council had no objections to the plans and ultimately Colchester Council made the decision to approve them.
The expansion is set to “bring with it a number of economic and social benefits, as well as improving the efficiency and functionality of the business”, according to a spokesman for Mumford and Wood.
The business was established in 1954 in Ongar and later moved to Tiptree in 1998.
It is recognised as one of the UK’s market leaders in timber windows and doors.
