THREE vehicles have been completely destroyed after a jump-start gone caused a devastating fire.

Firefighters from Tiptree and Leigh raced to Talisman Walk, in Tiptree, at 3.39pm on Tuesday after reports of a vehicle fire.

Upon arrival it was established a blaze had broken out after a car was jump-started, before two other cars caught fire.

Thankfully, nobody suffered any injuries as a result of the fire.

Safety advice has now been issued to the public, advising them to make sure they have good knowledge of how to jump-start a car before attempting to do so.

Station manager Terry Maher said: “While it’s not uncommon for people to jump-start their cars, you need to be really careful and have good knowledge about how to do it properly.

"If you're not sure how to do it, don't risk it, and seek professional advice. Always double-check with your car manufacturer's handbook for instructions.

“Luckily no one was injured but unfortunately, due to the damage caused, all three vehicles have been written off.”
