A TODDLER who ran off was soon reunited with his relieved mother after police officers leapt into action.
Essex Police officers were patrolling the Dutch Quarter area of Colchester when they were made aware of a three-year-old boy who had gone missing.
Thankfully the team, deployed as part of Operation Stronghold, was quickly able to locate the youngster before returning him too his mum.
During the information-driven patrol officers spoke with businesses and engaged with more than 50 members of the public.
They listened to their concerns and continue to invite members of the public to approach them if they are experiencing any local issues.
A spokesman for Essex Police in Colchester said: “Officers have been out listening to and following up on issues raised by the community during Operation Stronghold this week.
“They have been conducting high visibility patrols in the Dutch Quarter area and while carrying out the patrols helped reunite a three-year-old child with his mother after he had run off.”
