EXCITING new play equipment has been unveiled for teenagers in the hope of increasing social interaction.
Grove Road playing fields are now home to some Ninja Warrior-style play equipment, after weeks of work.
The equipment has been specifically designed by playground firm Eibe for children aged 12 to 17.
The aim of the new equipment is to encourage outdoor activity and improve youngsters' health.
There is also a trampoline which allows children of all abilities take part.
A spokesman for Eibe said: “It is an exciting, action-packed play experience for young people playing independently or in groups.
“The top feature is a tough trail unit inspired by the thrilling Ninja Warrior experience and created specifically to engage teenage girls and boys.
“It will tempt teenagers off today's tech and give them an interesting alternative to common play and exercises.
“The trampoline and the existing basket swing create good, integrated, inclusive play opportunities within the teen area.
“A dynamic cableway completes the exciting area, with children able to glide at speed over a 20m distance.
“The equipment improves the accessible play provision and supports mental and physical well-being."
“We have selected a range of equipment covering a variety of physical, sensory and social play values.”
