A POPULAR pub based on the banks of the River Colne has reopened under new management.
The Anchor, in High Street, Rowhedge, has relaunched after its previous owners stepped down after nearly eight years.
The watering hole was closed temporarily whilst the new owners redecorated parts of the pub in order to give it a fresh look.
The new menu consists of traditional pub classics including cod and chips, scampi and chips, gammon, egg and chips and a cheese and bacon burger and chips.
It also includes Sunday roast dinners and an extensive range of bar snacks boasting everything from chicken wings and nachos to loaded fries.
Food is served from Monday to Saturday from 1pm to 5pm.
Following the takeover, the pub's previous landlords, Bev and Jeff have said: “Jeff and I want to thank all of you for making the past, almost, eight years here a wonderful adventure.
“For all your support and custom, you came in as customers and left as friends.
“We will miss all of you especially our ‘Anchor Family’, what wonderful bunch of amazing people to work with.
“We want to take this opportunity to wish the new owners and management good luck and once again thank you all for your kindness and support over the last few years.
“It's time for Jeff and I to start a new adventure.”
