AN iconic television presenter has been remembered for his visit to Tiptree in a touching tribute.
Hairy Bikers star Dave Myers died peacefully at his home, aged 66, on Wednesday, February 28 after a battle with cancer.
The star from Barrow-in-Furness, visited Wilkin and Sons Tiptree site in 2009 with co-star Si King.
The popular jam manufacturers shared their memory of his visit to the site on social media.
A spokesman for Wilkin and Sons said: “We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Myers, one of the 'Hairy Bikers'.
“Dave and Si visited us at Tiptree back in 2009 and we have fond memories of them dancing around one of our Mulberry trees to illustrate the fact that Mulberries grow on trees and not bushes as they sang in the famous song.
“We send our condolences to Dave's loved ones.”
Si King shared his sadness as he was by his side as he passed away surrounded by family.
He said: “I will miss him every day and the bond and friendship we shared over half a lifetime.
“I wish you god’s speed brother; you are and will remain a beacon in this world. See you on the other side. Love ya.
“I know Dave and his family would want me to thank all of you who sent messages of support in recent times. It meant the world to him, his family and all The Hairy Bikers team.”
