LOOKING back on school days can be a fun experience for some, but have you met up with former classmates since graduating?
Whether it has been months, years or even decades since leaving secondary school behind, it is a formative time in a person’s life.
Alumni of a secondary school in Colchester will be reminiscing on old times and looking ahead to the future in an upcoming event.
Founded in 1963, St Benedict's is a coeducational Catholic secondary school in Norman Way, Colchester.
Past pupils celebrating their 70th birthdays this year are organising a reunion to mark the special occasion, more than five decades after leaving school.
It will be taking place on Saturday, May 25 at 6pm at the Church Street Tavern in Church Street.
Former St Benedict's pupils born between September 1953 and August 1954 are invited to attend.
However, the organisers are still trying to track down some of their former schoolmates to join the celebration.
They are looking for Linda Carrigan, Teresa Linsell, Bernadette Fitzpatrick, Christine Ince, Frances Brandon (Finch), Leslie Clarke, Maria Roach, Joe Grego and David Totman.
Also to be tracked down are Lindsey Gueizelar, Brian Biggwither, Christopher McGuire, Stephen Pegram, Michael Mulroney, Duncan Anderson, Neil Treasure, Stephen Ellison, Cathy Locke, Cathy Tuffnell, Pamela Hockley, Barry Josko, Maria O'Kane, Kim Bunch, Maria Oakley, Terry Baker, Pat Doyle, Jane Chisholm and Joseph Scott.
One of the soon-to-be attendees said: "It’s not just a band of brothers.
"We’ve got sisters in this case and like a long lost family we’ll happily embrace.
"Remembering those years together at St Benedict’s in Norman Way, before one last farewell with a glass of Chardonnay".
Andréa Neary said: "One minute you’re there a teenager and the next you’re there and 70. Life really is short and we intend to embrace our times together".
