A FORMER bagel café could be turned into a restaurant after a new licensing application for the site was submitted.
An application has been made for 101 High Street in Colchester, in the hopes of being able to set up a restaurant with on-premises sale of alcohol.
The application includes a floor plan of a customer dine-in and drinking area at the front of the site and a bar, cold room, and kitchen area at the back.
The site was previously used by the Brick Lane Bagel Co. before it shut its doors at the start of the year.
The application has been made by Pradip Aryal but it is not known what business is looking to open at the site.
The public has until March 19 to give feedback to the plans.
The Brick Lane Bagel Co., in High Street, Colchester, launched in May last year, offering a huge range of bagels, toasties and more.
When the Gazette stopped by to try it out shortly after it opened, we found the eatery to be "clean and modern" and its Salt Beef bagel was of "high quality".
