A HUGE supermarket brand has once again pledged its allegiance to East Anglia’s first LGBTQ+ and inclusive rugby team.
The East of England Co-op has been announced as the sponsor of the Colchester Kings Rugby Club, which strives to promote inclusivity within sports.
The club fosters a welcoming environment for individuals of all backgrounds, regardless of experience, age, size or sexuality.
Additionally, the sponsorship will enable the club to gain access to high-quality training facilities and part-funded memberships.
Jordan Holder, talent acquisition and development leader at the East of England Co-op said: "As a community retailer and a co-operative, supporting others is at the heart of what we do.
"We’re proud to have over 155 years of history giving back to local communities through our outreach programmes, fundraising and community support initiatives.
“We supported Colchester Kings Rugby Club last year through our Community Cares Fund and are very pleased to be sponsoring the club this year.
"We look forward to supporting them to continue to run an inclusive club for the LGBTQ+ community throughout the summer, enabling people to access sport, some for the first time."
