A ROAD near Colchester is set to close for nearly three weeks.
Broome Grove in Wivenhoe will shut from its junction with Heath Road for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on April 1 for 19 days.
It is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
- Elsewhere, several roads in villages around the city are also set for upcoming closures, three of which are overnight.
In Rowhedge, the High Street will be shutting overnight from its junction with Regent Street for a distance of approximately 30m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on April 17 for just one night from 8am to 6pm while civils works are undertaken by Openreach.
In Dedham, Long Road East will shut from a point approximately 300m north east then south east of its junction with Jupes Hill for a distance of approximately 130m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on April 21 for one night from 10pm to 6am while bridge examination works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
Lastly, Plough Road in Great Bentley will close from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approximately 60m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on April 21 for one night from 12.30am to 8am while track inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
- In the Tendring district, a main road in Clacton is set to shut.
Pier Avenue will close from its junction with Rosemary Road for a distance of approximately 170m in a south easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on April 8 for eight days and is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.
In Harwich Fronks Road Service Road will be closing on April 2 for three days.
The road will shut from its junction with Fronks Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a northerly direction while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.
Elsewhere in Harwich, the High Street and Kingsway are set for nearly four weeks of overnight closures.
The High Street will close from its junction with Station Road for a distance of approximately 135m in a south westerly direction.
Kingsway will close from its junction with Marine Parade to its junction with Station Road a distance of approximately 305m.
Both roads will also see a temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ during the closures.
The closures and restrictions are scheduled to commence on April 7 for 27 nights from 7pm to 6.30am while site investigation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
- The High Street in Braintree is also set for closure next month.
It will close from its junction with St Michaels Lane for a distance of approximately 40m in a north easterly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on April 3 for three days while new connection works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
During the closure, the one-way resitrction in the High Street will be temporarily suspended from its junction with Great Square, south west to its junction with St Michaels Road.
- In the Maldon district, a lengthy closure is coming to a village road.
Stansgate Road in Steeple will shut from its junction with Bradwell Road for a distance of approximately 1605m in a north westerly direction.
The closure is scheduled to commence on April 1 for 61 days while mains renewal works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
