A SENIOR paratrooper based in Colchester has been cleared of sexual assault.
Records published by the Military Court Service reveal a lieutenant from 3 Para appeared at Catterick Military Court Centre on February 8 charged with sexual assault.

The court cleared the solider of the offence, however, because no evidence was offered.
Court martial records reveal 41 military personnel have appeared at military court centres since the start of this year.
The paratrooper cleared of sexual assault was the only one based in Colchester, which is home to more than 3,000 military personnel.
