Supported by £6 million worth of Town Deal funding, the project aims to provide improvements and benefits to Greenstead, promoting better health and wellbeing for residents.
The properties will now be managed by Colchester Borough Homes (CBH) on behalf of the council, maintaining continuity in services and support for residents in terms of tenancy agreements, rent arrangements, and support or care services as per previous agreements.
The council has reported residents expressed satisfaction with the change in ownership, and felt optimistic about the community's prospects.
Councillor Paul Smith, portfolio holder for housing, said: "We are delighted to have completed the acquisition of these properties from Notting Hill Genesis.
"This milestone represents a positive step forward in our commitment to providing quality housing and improving the lives of our residents."
