A popular science festival is returning to the city centre, answering exciting questions about AI, history and fish.
The Pint of Science festival returns to three Colchester pubs in May, with a debate about AI’s impact on Colchester by world-leading researchers, politicians and artists.
Also on the agenda, local archaeologists and historians will explore the city, the catastrophic role of hormones in disease and the secret life of fish will be exposed.
Tobias Boyington and Katarina Stanka, both scientists at the University of Essex, will take over from Dr Olivia Grant and Dr Ellie Watson as city coordinators this year.
Alongside the main talk, audience members will be able to take part in the largest-ever multi-city pub quiz.
Teams will tackle since-themed trivia and go head-to-head with other cities interactively, in hope of claiming a top spot across the UK.
The Pint of Science festival started with three cities in 2013 and has grown to hundreds of cities taking part this year, showcasing the brilliant work happening on our doorsteps.
The festival will take place at Coda, Three Wise Monkeys and Other Monkey Brewing on May 13 to 15.
Tickets cost £5 and are available online.
