A NEW housing development in north Essex is set to officially launch this week.
Dandara will be opening its new Oaklands development off-plan on Friday.
Located in Copford, the development consists of 35 two to five bedroom detached and semi-detached houses.
There will also be green open space and allocated play area.
Gemma Bannister, head of sales for Dandara Eastern, said: “Residents at Oaklands will be able to enjoy the charm of village life and the countryside, while still being connected to the thriving Essex towns of Colchester and Chelmsford, with the city of London also within easy reach for commuting.
“We’re expecting the development to be popular among commuters relocating from the capital, as well as local Essex families looking to stay in the scenic area.”
Paul Copeland, an estate agent from Harris and Wood, said findings indicate more people are moving from London suburbs to north Essex.
He said: “By relocating from the capital, families can get at least an extra bedroom or two for the same price or better.”
The homes at Oaklands are in proximity to schools, with access to Colchester and Chelmsford.
There are transport links including road, rail and airport.
Currently available off plan is a selection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes at Oaklands.
Prices have now been released starting from £345,000 for a two bedroom semi detached property.
