A POPULAR vegan restaurant is set to close for almost two weeks next month so refurbishment works can be carried out.

Hank's Colchester, a vegan restaurant which opened in July 2021, will be closing for 12 days from May 7 to 19.

Every item on its menu is 100 per cent vegan and the business is known for its delicious burgers, wraps, drinks, and desserts.

The business, owned by Geoffrey Bligh and Philip Rivers, who also run a restaurant in Suffolk, took to social media yesterday to confirm the closure.

The Facebook post confirms the business is closing for renovations as Hank's Colchester believes it's time for "a bit of a face-lift".

During the closure, the restaurant will be installing a brand new bar area on the second floor.

It will offer a full cocktail menu, draft beers from Burnt mill brewery, and a selection of pastries, vegan sausage rolls, baked goods, and cake.

A space will also be transformed into a lounge area where full table service will be provided.

The business confirmed it is hoping to reopen on May 20.

To celebrate the relaunch, Hank's Colchester will host a five day event with free food, cocktails, beer, and coffee.

The fast-food joint and café is currently open Wednesday and Thursday 12pm until 9pm, Friday and Saturday 11am until 10pm, and 10am until 9pm on Sundays.
