Tickets for Capital Radio’s Summertime Ball go on general sale on May 1 and the line-up has been announced.
The Summertime Ball is a multi-act concert with many big stars taking to the stage at Wembley Stadium to perform their biggest hits, it has a festival-vibe but without the mud - what’s not to love?
The 2024 lineup released so far is; David Guetta, Perrie, Jax Jones, Bradley Simpson, Benson Boone, Caity Baser, Rudimental, Sabrina Carpenter, Sugababes, Becky Hill, Paul Russell, Ella Henderson, Aitch, Meghan Trainor and RAYE.
Me and a friend managed to nab two tickets in the presale, and we are both looking forward to seeing Sabrina Carpenter. The YouTube singer and songwriter first found fame on Disney’s Girl Meets World and the 24-year-old opened for Taylor Swift on the US leg of her record-breaking global tour. Her most recent song, Espresso, reached number six in the UK Charts and has been streamed 122 million times on Spotify. We are hoping she sings this at the ball with some of her hits from her album emails I can’t send.
RAYE is another artist that I can’t wait to see, she first headlined at the Summertime Ball in 2017, and was there again last year. RAYE has many popular songs such as Escapism and Prada, and my personal favourite of hers is ‘WORTH IT.’
A lot of incredible artists have performed at the Summertime Ball since it made its debut in 2009, including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Harry Styles, Rihanna, Usher, and Ed Sheeran.
The festival is known for announcing more guests nearer to the date, and even during the event itself - Aussie favourite Kylie Minogue wowed the crowd with her surprise turn last year.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Sophie Ellis-Bextor who found a new generation of fans when her 20-year-old song Murder on the Dancefloor was the soundtrack to that scene in Saltburn.
As Barry Keoghan, star of Salburn and that scene, is dating Sabrina Carpenter he might also have managed to nab himself a ticket in the pre-sale so he can dance to her hits as well as Ellis-Bextor’s.
