Sri Vishwa Hari, the owner of Kaveri, said: "Opening an Indian restaurant is my dream and I'm glad we did it in Colchester.

"I have been working with food tech companies like JustEat in the UK for the past two years and now I am working full-time in the restaurant business.

"Our culinary provenance descends from the exuberant and unique spices and distinct flavours of the Indian Subcontinent.

"Inspired by historic and cultural roots of the river Kaveri in Tamil Nadu, our menu has been designed to be gastronomically unique and surprise your palate with tastes of sweet, sour, salt, bitter, hot and pungent or 'arusuvai' - as mentioned in classical Tamil literature.

"Indulge in our food at a cosy and modern location in Colchester, amidst the surviving ruins of characteristic Roman walls which have stood for thousands of years."

"We are proud of our Head Chef Mamrej Khan, who in a 25-year career has admirably worked in restaurants across the world including the 5-star Taj Hotels in Chennai, The Rose Garden in the Maldives and the Deluxe Palace Hotel in Bahrain."
