DAVE Huzzey has been appointed manager of Maldon and Tiptree.

Colchester United’s transition coach has been named as the Jammers new boss, for the 2024-25 season.

Huzzey takes over in the Park Drive hot seat from former U’s striker Jamie Cureton, who was in charge of the Pitching In Isthmian League division north side for the final weeks of this season.

It marks a return to Maldon for Huzzey, who previously served as the club’s assistant manager under Wayne Brown.

In a statement, Maldon said: ‘Maldon & Tiptree FC are thrilled to announce the return of a familiar face to Park Drive. Join us in extending a warm welcome to our new manager, Dave Huzzey!

‘Having previously served as the assistant manager under Wayne Brown, Dave played an instrumental role in shaping the success of our club before embarking on an exciting move with Colchester United's 1st team.

‘Now, Dave returns to Maldon & Tiptree with a wealth of experience and a passion to drive our football club in the right direction. His dedication, leadership, and tactical prowess make him the perfect fit to lead our team.
