COLCHESTER'S first-ever large-scale house music event took over a popular beauty spot in the city with revellers enjoying the sunshine and tunes.
'Musik in the Park' took place in Castle Park on Saturday from 1pm to 11pm.
Headline acts included Roger Sanchez, best known for his hit song Another Chance, with Jess Bays and George Mensah also performing.
The event also saw fire dancers, stilt walkers, and other performers at the event alongside funfair rides, food vendors, and stalls selling merchandise.
General admission tickets were priced at between £30 and £50, with VIP tickets being priced between £130 and £160 in the popular event.
Despite the success of the event, some residents were left concerned and frustrated about the impact of the festival, with one resident saying that the event has left the council-owned "lower park ruined again”.
Following the frustrations, Colchester Council said it works closely with all event organisers to ensure every step is taken to preserve the grounds at the park.
“We want to assure residents we are actively working to address the situation and with drier and more seasonal conditions ahead, we expect the grounds to recover soon," a spokesman added.
More music events are set to hit the popular events venue last this year.
Upcoming music gigs at Colchester Castle Park this summer including the 'Ibiza Orchestra' on July 12 which will sees multi-platinum award winning rapper Professor Green take to the stage.
The event, which proved a hit last year despite bad weather, will see a 26-piece live orchestra on stage as part of their Ibiza Sunset tour.
