CAMERON McGeehan admits he is unsure where he will be playing his football next season.

The experienced midfielder, who finished as Colchester United’s second-highest scorer in the 2023-24 campaign with ten goals, is due to see his one-year deal at the JobServe Community Stadium expire this summer.

McGeehan, 29, who made 39 league and cup appearances for the U’s after joining them on a free transfer last September, has been offered new terms by Colchester.

However, the former Luton Town favourite says he is yet to make a decision on what happens next, in his career.

Writing on his Instagram page, McGeehan said: ‘Another season playing the beautiful game. I found myself back in England after 3 years in Belgium keen to remind everyone that I’m back and found myself starting again in League 2.

‘It was challenge coming back trying to weigh whether to stay in Europe or come home, but after missing pre season and the first 6 games it was time.

‘You can’t beat 3pm on a Saturday and the English banter, and I was very grateful to everyone at @colu_official for a great year playing with some top young players + a group of great people.

‘Getting in the box and scoring double figures is something I’m proud of.

‘I’m not sure what is next for me yet but time for a holiday with my baby boy and amazing wife who inspire and support me always.’

McGeehan is one of four out-of-contract players from this season’s first-team squad to be offered new deals, by Colchester.

Noah Chilvers, Al-Amin Kazeem and Chay Cooper have also been presented with new terms, by the U’s.
