A COLCHESTER venue is set to welcome a soul and R&B legend to the stage one final time as part of his farewell tour.
Alexander O'Neal is heading to Charter Hall, in Cowdray Avenue, to perform his Time to Say Goodbye: Farewell World Tour show for Colchester audiences.
The show will take the audience on a wonderful journey through his career with never-before-seen photos, testimonies and tributes on Friday.
This will all be set to the tune of some of Alexander’s most beloved songs from his legendary catalogue including Criticize, Fake and If You Were Here Tonight.
A spokesman for the show said:" Accompanied by his exemplary 9-piece live band, there won’t be a dry eye in the house as audiences come together to celebrate the legacy of Alexander O’Neal.
"The strength of his material and his robust vocals can be heard on his many chart-topping releases including 1985’s eponymous debut Alexander O’Neal, 1987’s smash hit album Hearsay, 1991’s All True Man, and 1998’s Lovers Again."
Alexander began his career when he moved to Minneapolis, where he performed with several bands including the Mystics and Wynd Chymes.
He then moved on to his iconic solo soul songs throughout the 1980s.
Doors open at 6.30pm whilst the show begins at 7.30pm and will end at 10pm.
Tickets cost £34.50.
