ESSEX University professors are set to hold lectures on art and humanities at a Colchester gallery this week.
Professors from the department of literature, film, and theatre studies and the East 15 Acting School will give their professorial inaugural lectures on May 21 from 7pm until 9.30pm.
Professor Holly Maples, from East 15 Acting School, will be talking about decolonising heritage sites through immersive heritage performance.
Professor Elizabeth Kuti from the department of literature, film, and theatre studies will delve into being someone else through playwriting, politics, and the idea of a university.
A spokesman for Essex University said: "Each year we invite our newly appointed Professors to take part in this prestigious lecture series.
"We welcome members of the public, our students and staff, alumni and guests to come along to discover our internationally significant research, to exchange ideas and be inspired.
"After the lectures, we’d love you to join us at a drinks reception where you will have the opportunity to network with members of our university community as we celebrate our new professors."
These talks will be held at Firstsite, with free entry for all.
