AN ELDERLY pedestrian is fighting for his life after a serious crash in Colchester city centre.
Police were called to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and two motorbikes in St Botolph’s Street on Sunday afternoon.
Three people have been taken to hospital following the incident at about 1.50pm.
The pedestrian, a man in his 80s, has suffered life-threatening injuries.
Both motorcyclists have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "Our roads policing officers are at the scene carrying out their investigations and St Botolph’s Street is currently closed to motorists and pedestrians between Vineyard Street and Queen Street.
"Please avoid the area.
"We are appealing for any information, witnesses or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision.
"If you can help, please contact us quoting incident number 644 of Sunday 19 May."
