COLCHESTER United and their supporters are facing extra miles of travel in a northern-heavy League Two next season.
Danny Cowley’s side and U's fans are set to clock up nearly 9,000 miles in total, in the forthcoming 2024-25 campaign.
They are set to travel a grand total of 8,967.6 miles in the league, a difference of 129.4 extra miles in comparison to the total of 8,838.2 miles they covered, in the 2023-24 season.

With the make up of the fourth tier for the new season now confirmed following Crawley Town’s 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra in the League Two play-off final at Wembley Stadium yesterday, the U’s now know exactly who they will be playing – and where they will be travelling to.
The promotion of Crawley, Stockport County, Wrexham and Mansfield Town, along with the arrival of Carlisle United, Fleetwood Town, Port Vale and Cheltenham Town from League One, has added extra miles on the clock.
And that, coupled with the relegation of Sutton United and Forest Green Rovers and Chesterfield and Bromley promotion from the National League, all adds up to Colchester travelling longer distances.
Colchester have six round trips of 500 miles or more and 12 of 400 miles or more, next season.
The U's longest away journey is once again to Barrow, where they will need to travel nearly 650 miles in total to get to Holker Street and back for the fixture.
Their shortest trip will be when the U's head to play newly-promoted Bromley, a round trip of 132.5 miles.
That is followed by trips to Gillingham (142.8) AFC Wimbledon (149) and MK Dons (202.4).
