AN elderly pedestrian remains in hospital in a "serious condition" following a suspected drink-driving incident in Colchester's city centre.
Essex Police were called to St Botolph’s Street at 1.50pm on Sunday after a crash involving a man in his 80s and two motorcycles.
Ambulance service colleagues attended too, sending an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and ambulance officer vehicle to the scene.
"Two people were transported to Colchester General Hospital for further assessment and treatment," a spokesman said.
The elderly man remains in a "serious condition" according to police.
Two men, aged 18 and 26, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink.
They have since been released on bail until July 1.
A police probe has been launched, with officers appealing for information, witnesses or dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash.
