Mingi, who joined Colchester last summer after leaving Portsmouth, made 28 appearances for the club during his time at the JobServe Community Stadium.
He flourished in a defensive role in the final weeks of the season, helping the U’s secure their League Two status under Danny and Nicky Cowley.
Mingi started each of Colchester’s final 11 matches in a defensive role and was outstanding, consistently producing impressive performances to help the club stay in the Football League.

Prior to that, the ex-West Ham United youngster had experienced a stop-start season with the U’s and had played in a more familiar midfield berth.
Mingi won the Goal of the Month accolade for his fine winning goal in the U’s vital 2-1 home win over Newport County.
