COLCHESTER’S 37th real ale and cider festival is under way and the action will continue today (Friday) and Saturday.
Organisers of the event, which is run by Camra – the Campaign For Real Ale – are looking forward to the weekend, which will bring in hundreds of beer buffs to the Colchester Arts Centre.
Branch spokesman Trevor Simpson said: “A team of volunteers helped set up the festival yesterday and all is ready for the weekend.
“There will also be food available, and make sure to get there before all the beer runs out.”
The aim of Camra is to promote real ales and the festival is a great opportunity for people to try a variety of drinks and have a great time.
There will be a selection of 110 different real ales available throughout the festival from across the country.
There is also a selection of craft beers and more than 20 ciders and perries.
Camra members can get into the festival for free, with free admission for non-members until 3pm.
Entry will cost £3 for nonmembers after 3pm.
