THE top eight places in Essex where it is the hardest to pass your driving test have been revealed, with Colchester ranking among the top three.
Electronic car part remanufacturer Actronics LTD analysed data released by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency to reveal which Essex driving test centre was the hardest to pass with during 2023.
Colchester had the second-lowest pass rate in Essex, seeing 10,266 tests and only 4,661 successful passes.
This resulted in a pass rate of 45.4 per cent.
Loughton test centre had the lowest pass rate in Essex at 44.75 per cent. Out of 4,755 tests conducted, only 2,128 resulted in passes.
Figures from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency also reveal the most common faults in driving tests since April 2018.
The most common fault was inadequate observation at junctions.
Failing to properly assess the road and check for oncoming traffic, pedestrians and cyclists before entering or crossing junctions was a major issue among test-takers.
