MORE residents will be able to let off some steam as a second rage room has been set up at a Colchester venue.

Opened in April 2022 by Colchester residents Simon Farmer, Rob Clark and Scott Hinchcliffe, Urban Xtreme Colchester has now opened a second rage room due to popular demand.

Rob, 36, said that the rage room has gotten particularly busy on the weekends.

Back-to-back sessions on Saturday afternoons mean the new room can welcome more people with more flexibility.

Rob said: “With rage rooms, people come to release some anger and tension, people come for all sorts of different reasons, finding life difficult.

“Some people come due to break ups or deaths in the family.”

"People can be themselves."

People are “kitted up” with PPE, face shields, overalls, gloves as well as other safety restrictions with venue having no alcohol – another reason for its wide-ranging appeal.

Every four weeks children who have been “let down by the system” can enjoy the rage room under supervision as part of Emily Swaep’s Urban Support grant-funded ‘Get To Know Yourself’ project.

The children – who are currently not in a school environment - also learn skills to cope with emotions as well as other life lessons.
