A COLCHESTER resident's TV, washing machine and microwave were stolen in a burglary by bogus workmen.
Police are investigating a 'distraction' burglary which took place at a property in Winchester Road.
Two men went to an address claiming to be testing appliances for safety purposes on May 13.
The men were in a van which had ‘Electrical Solutions’ written on it.
Two days later the men returned to the property and informed the resident that the items - a TV, washing machine and microwave - had been declared unsafe.
The items were then collected, and it was said they would be returned later.
Police are appealing for witnesses to help their investigation.
A spokesman said: “If you have any information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“Please quote the crime reference number 42/76247/24.”
