FORMER Colchester United winger Brennan Dickenson has signed for Scottish League One side Queen of the South.

The 31-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Scottish side, with an option for a further year.

Queen of the South boss Peter Murphy told the club's website: "We are delighted to sign Brennan after stiff competition from a number of suitors but Brennan has shown a real ambition to be a part of something special at the club.

"Having played the majority of his career in the English leagues we have a player with a wealth of experience and knows what it takes to push his teammates to be better day in and day out.

"We are looking forward to seeing how Brennan can push himself which will no doubt help us to achieve greater things."

Dickenson spent three years at Colchester, between 2016 and 2019.

He battled back from a serious knee injury at the U's to make a total of 93 appearances for them under John McGreal, scoring 15 goals.

Dickenson joined Colchester in the summer of 2016 and, in his first season, scooped the player-of-the-year and players' player-of-the-year accolades.

He left to join MK Dons in 2019 and also played for Exeter City before joining Carlisle in August, 2020.
