BANDS are set to go head-to-head at a Colchester venue as they try and secure a slot at a world-famous heavy metal music festival.

Metal 2 The Masses is once again returning to Coda for a huge clash of four brilliant Essex metal bands which have made it to the competition's final.

This Friday, June 7, the last four bands will be battling it out for the grand prize of playing at the New Blood stage at this year's Bloodstock, which has been held annually since 2005.

The line-up consists of Reverent Son, BlackWater Kings, Fallen Relic and Within Reach.

Unlike the previous rounds, audience members will not be able to vote for their favourite act, this time the decision will be up to the judges.

Reverent Son is a mix between 70s hard rock and modern metal, harnessing a unique sound since its formation in 2020.

BlackWater Kings, hailing from Colchester, is a traditional heavy metal five-piece band.

Fallen Relic is a groove and hard rock fusion band made up of four members.

Within Reach is a melodic metalcore band, formed in London.

All of these bands will be taking to the stage one by one.

Doors open at 7pm for a show start time of 7.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased for £6.60, from wegottickets.com/event/621918#.
