A WARNING has been issued by fire crews after a beach hut along the north Essex coast set alight.
Crews were called to attend the fire, which began at a Walton beach hut, on Tuesday evening.
The fire started at approximately 7.35pm, with billowing smoke seen rising into the evening sky by nearby residents.
Crews have said they suspect the blaze was started deliberately, with a warning subsequently issued
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters were called to three beach huts alight in Walton on Tuesday night, June 4 at 7.30pm.
"Firefighters believe the fire was started deliberately.
"Deliberate fires are dangers – they put lives at risk and also tie up our time when we might be needed for a more serious emergency somewhere else.
"Please help us stop these happening. Tell us what you know – it's 100 per cent anonymous.
"We’re not interested in who you are – just what you know.
