A PENSIONER has died after a fatal crash in Wakes Colne.
Emergency services rushed to the scene in Station Road last Tuesday shortly after noon, following a crash which involved a car and a pedestrian.
Essex Police officers attended alongside the ambulance service colleagues, which sent an ambulance, rapid response vehicle and ambulance officer vehicle.
An air ambulance was also dispatched to the scene after the crash.
Police confirmed a woman aged in her 70s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers have said her family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
A subsequent investigation has been launched following the incident.
"A spokesman said: "Detectives investigating a fatal collision in Wakes Colne are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
