HARWICH’S ‘Jus’ Desserts’ offers more than cakes, with friendly staff and an attractive interior making it a town asset.

Jus’ Desserts more than doubled its covers, from 20 to 45, when moving to the more visible High Street.

The new venue was certainly spacious, with a few people already inside enjoying the space – a good sign on a grey Thursday at midday.

With there being so much variety, I made the very wise decision to buy two sweet treats, one for now and one for later, so I could better sample the selection.

To eat in, I chose a lovely looking Banoffee cheesecake, looking like whipped perfection in the smart glass cabinet.

The pie was remarkably not too sweet clearly being fine-tuned as Banoffee.

Prettily served on a pink plate, I managed to sit by the sofas overlooking the High Street.

Considering that the cheesecake itself was quite heavy, the portion size was just right as any more would have actually been too much.

I had the kinder bueno ‘cookie pie’, one of serval cookie-pie hybrids, a day later, and I was honestly eager to taste it.

Having never had a cookie pie before it was a great type of treat to eat throughout the day with the thick pie crust and chewy, slightly gooey centre being delightful but strong.

The texture of the Kinder Bueno – the top layer of the branded chocolate bar - inside the pie greatly improved the consumer experience as you could work out clearly each ingredient and have more of a crunch.

£4.50 for the big hunk of cookie pie, to me is a fair price as you can truly eat it as two portions.

While the £4 price for the banoffee cheesecake reflected the luxury feeling of the food - both prices being even more fair when considering how expensive supermarket desserts are right now.

Jus’ Desserts provides wholesome and different enough desserts with cheerful staff – more than a visit whenever you want.
