A TOTAL of 75,000 homes across Colchester will be given clear recycling and blue textile bags next month.

The annual distribution, run by Colchester Council, will see households supplied with one roll of 62 clear bags for paper and plastics recycling.

In addition, the city's crews will also be issuing a textile recycling pack.

This includes eight small blue bags and instructions on how to recycle textiles properly, given by Essex Textiles.

Residents can order extras through Essex Textiles across the year.

During this delivery period, the service for ordering clear recycling bags online will be temporarily unavailable.

Residents needing additional clear recycling bags before July should place their orders and pick them up from one of the available local community stockists.

It's worth noting that residents may not receive the textile and recycle bags on their usual collection day.

If residents haven't obtained their bag rolls by the end of July, they can order online for clear bags and directly contact Essex Textiles for blue bags.

For more information about the recycling programme or to stay informed about activities in the city, residents are encouraged to visit the council’s website and subscribe to their newsletters.
