An independent television producer is looking for Colchester residents to star in a show all about shoppers and their retail habits.

Firecrest Films is making a brand-new programme for Channel 4 looking at supermarket shops through the eyes of the people who decide what we put in our baskets - the buyers. 

Producer Kate Wilson said: "We’ll do approximately two days of filming with a group of people.

"We want to hear how they feel about supermarket shopping and ask them their opinions on various supermarket products.

"We’re going to organise some fun demonstrations and experiments to take part in, and they’ll learn a bit about how to shop better!

"We’re planning to do lots of filming in Essex, so we want to get local people involved."

Previous Firecrest productions for Channel 4 include Supershoppers, Luxury for Less, and Secrets of the Supermarket Own Brands.

Kate added: "We’re really excited to be making this series and filming in Essex. It’s going to be lots of fun and we can’t wait to meet some local shoppers."
