HARRY Anderson says he was happy to be reunited with the Cowleys again after signing for Colchester United on a permanent basis.

The 27-year-old winger has penned a two-year deal with the U’s, having spent the second half of last season on loan, at the JobServe Community Stadium.

Anderson, who was released by League One side Stevenage at the end of last season, has also previously played under Colchester management duo Danny and Nicky Cowley at Lincoln City and Braintree Town.

The former Bristol Rovers wide man is now back for another stint at the U’s and is looking forward to the new season.

Anderson told www.cu-fc.com: “They got me back again, so they must enjoy having me around!

“I’m quite a bubbly person in the dressing room and I have a laugh with the lads.

“It’s definitely nice to be back working with them and hopefully, doing what I do best.

“It was frustrating not to be involved in those later games towards the end of the season because ultimately, the lads are in control of what’s going to happen in the future.

“I really enjoyed my time here; I played some really good football and I’m happy to be back.

“I got a couple of goals and some assists and contributed when I could.

“It was good to be back out there after such a long time for me being out.

“I was really enjoying my football, so I was a little frustrated that I picked up those injuries towards the end but hopefully now with a full pre-season behind me, I should be good to go, this season.”

Anderson was ruled out for the final weeks of last season due to a hamstring injury.

The former Peterborough United youngster says he is now feeling good but has revealed his pre-season fitness programme will be designed to ensure he is ready to hit the ground running come the big kick-off, on August 10.

He added: “My hamstring and my injuries are literally perfect.

“I had my medical and everything was really good.

“Pre-season for me this summer will be tailored to myself and the things that I sort of need, rather than rushing into things.

“We’ll probably build things up in certain areas that I need where I’m maybe lacking some alignment with things.

“Hopefully, we’ll straighten that all out and I’ll be good to go for the season.”
