A FORTHCOMING parade is looking for youngsters to become its members for this year’s royal court.
Colchester City Carnival is taking place on July 13 and is currently looking for a carnival queen, king, and members of its royal court.
The massive celebration will take to Colchester’s streets with 45 communities representing 25 nationalities.
The successful youngsters appointed to the royal court will take part in the parade.
The procession will start from Circular Road North, head along Head Street, turn onto Church Street, pass the Jumbo Tower, and the first five communities will then re-join the main parade.
It will pass through High Street to Firstsite and The Minories.
To be an eligible carnival queen or king you must be over the age of 18, and should submit your details, and a small photograph of yourself to the carnival organiser Pamela Waller at info@pamodelagency.co.uk.
The applicants must also include a brief statement why they are the right person for the position.
Any youngster interested in becoming a court prince or princess should be aged between six to 17 and must be chaperoned with an adult over the age of 18.
All successful applicants will be invited to a selection evening and the deadline for applications is July 1.
