VARIOUS roads in Colchester are set to shut for a weekend for an upcoming military show.

The 16 Air Assault Brigade and Colchester Garrison Show 2024 takes place today, Saturday, June 29.

Closures are also scheduled for the day of the show, between the hours of 8am and 8pm.

The roads affected are as follows: Abbeyfield View, Berechurch Road, Circular Road East, Circular Road North, Circular Road South, Circular Road West, Goojerat Road, Richmond Road, Stable Road and Ypres Road.

As well as this, other roads in the city are set to shut.

Kelvedon Road will be closed from its junction with Oak Road for a distance of 105m for 39 days, while new connection works are undertaken by Gas Transportation Company.

The closure is scheduled to commence on July 24.

Plough Road in Great Bentley will be closed for 75m from its junction with New Cut for 12 days from July 22, while new fire main connection works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

Collingwood Road in Colchester will close from a point approximately 110m south east of its junction with London Road for a distance of 30m.

The closure is scheduled to commence on July 8 for three days while repair and maintenance works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

On July 9, School Road in Copford will be closed for 570m from its junction with London Road for 20m while new water connections are undertaken by Anglian Water.

The closure is scheduled to commence on July 9 for three days.

Elsewhere in Essex, Bakers Lane in Black Notley is facing a long closure.

The road will be closed for 77 days from July 8 from its junction with London Road to its junction with Church Road.

The closure is needed while LV cable installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Church Road in Rivenhall is set for an overnight closure from its junction with Oak Road/ Rickstones Road from July 9 for two nights (7.30pm until 5am).

This closure is for carriageway patching works.

Coggeshall Road in Kelvedon will close for drainage and signing works from July 8 for three days.

Sheepcotes Lane, Silver End, will close for 11 days from July 15 while new connection works are undertaken by UK power networks.

Plains Road, Beckingham Road and Totham Hill Green in Great Totham, will be closed for various times from July 15 for four days, while fibre and cabling works are completed in phases by Openreach.

The Greenway in Clacton, will be partially closed for three days from July 8 while boundary box and meter installation works are undertaken by Affinity Water.
