CASTLE Park hosts amazing events all year round from hosting bands, festivals and charity runs.

With summer just starting, here are some of the events at Colchester's largest park to enjoy in the heat:

Race For Life - July 7

Cancer Research's annual Race for Life, open to people of all ages and abilities, will once again be taking place in Lower Castle Park.

The 5K run starts at 11am and encourages people to tackle the course at their own pace.

The event will cost £15.99 for runners aged 16 and over and £11 for children.

The Ibiza Orchestra - July 12

This festival is returning to Colchester for its third year and plans to play iconic Ibiza anthems from 5.30pm until 10.30pm.

Expect to hear tracks from artists such as; Rudimental, Ian Van Dahl, Daft Punk, Robert Miles, Baby D, Tiesto, Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Shapeshifters and many more.

There will also be a silent disco, stilt walkers, fire breathers, a laser show, pyrotechnics, a huge festival market and much more!

This event is for over 18s only and ticket prices range between £24.50 and £49.50.

Sausage and Cider Festival - July 13

This event brings loads of street food vendors and now up to 30 different ciders are available on-site.

Scouting For Girls and The Feeling are also set to headline the day and tribute acts will be performing throughout the event. 

The event starts at 2pm and ends at 10.30pm.

Summer Sundays -  July 14

Ocean Colour Scene, Embrace, Cast and The View will all be performing on the park's huge stage, with food stalls and much more entertainment on the day.

The event starts at 2pm and ends at 10.30pm.

Colourscape - July 20 / 21

This Colourscape event pays tribute to Peter Jones, the artist who passed away last year.

For the first time since 2005, the last Colourscape that Peter Jones made with his wife, fellow artist Lynne Dickens, will be on display.

On Saturday, the Voice vocal trio will be performing music from Baroque to the present day and Stevie Wishart will be playing the Hurdy-Gurdy.

On Sunday there will be creative dancers, Eileih Muir and Daisy West, with musicians to be announced. 

The event starts at 11am and ends at 5pm.

80s Calling – The Human League - August 3

A huge round-up of some of the best 80s bands are set to play a whole day of nostalgic and brilliant music. 

The Human League, Bananarama, Level 42, The Farm, Hue and Cry and The Christians are all due to perform on the outdoor stage. 

The event starts at 1pm and ends at 10pm.
